A bitter, medium‑carbonation, and genuinely enjoyable imperial stout from the guys at Northern Monk. I’m getting a bit of raw dark chocolate in the back with this one. Not that mega‑angry bitterness you get from some coffee stouts, but still a very textbook imperial stout.

All in all, a very solid Imperial Stout that I can easily grab at my local supermarket — and at a pretty great price too (£4.50 for a 500ml can, usually part of a 4‑for‑3 deal).

Not something I’d go driving around hunting for, but definitely an enjoyable pick if you like your stouts on the bitter side.
