Notes

Go ahead, look up Russian Imperial Stout in the dictionary… don’t act surprised if you see an image of Old Rasputin in there.

An awesome Russian Imperial Stout, only beaten perhaps by its Barrel‑Aged variety…which I’m sad to say I’ve only managed to find once.

Medium‑bodied with a high level of carbonation that disappears quickly. Properly bitter, with that dark‑chocolate bitterness you expect from the style. The ABV is nicely masked, and at 9% it hasn’t crossed into the realm of “this is going to hurt.”

This one came in a can, but I’ve had it several times in bottles, and the top‑tier quality and flavour are exactly the same.

Killer name, decent price, fantastic beer — and a ridiculous list of medals, probably worth every single one.

Easily my top pick for an Imperial Stout.
